2021 Bradley Para Educator of the Year

Rita Mammano

2021 Bradley School Paraeducator of the Year

We are proud to recognize Rita Mammano as the 2021 Paraeducator of the Year. She is an amazing member of our Bradley School Family. Rita supports the students and staff with whatever is needed. She makes a point of asking how you are doing and cares about your response and gives encouraging words with helpful advice.

Rita went from a classroom Para to a one-on-one with a very challenging student. Most people would have probably panicked and changed careers or put in for a transfer, but she rolled with the changes like a champ. The student went through some very difficult life changes but really seemed to thrive under her compassionate care. In addition, she is still supporting this student during our virtual learning experience.

Rita is soft-spoken but has a really great spunky sense of humor. She shows up to class (homeroom and UA classes) ready to lend a supportive hand. Kindergarten is always a challenging grade level, and this year is no exception and Rita seems to be that extra set of hands that we needed: “Many hands make light work.”

Some fun facts about Rita Mammano:

  • Rita was a Bradley School parent with two sons that went through our school.
  • Rita was the President of the Bradley School PTA when she was a parent.
  • Rita currently serves as the Treasurer for the Derby Paraeducator Union.
  • Rita used to be a paraeducator in the Bradley School learning center, supporting our most at-risk students in the district.
